Vancouver Island Wave Assessments

Dates have been announced for assessments for U11 and U12 players (birth years 2005 and 2006) interested in playing with Vancouver Island Wave. Wave is part of the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL, or as it is commonly known, HPL). BCSPL is an 8 team, Tier 1 league, with one franchise in Victoria, one in the Interior, and six based in the Lower Mainland. The other levels of soccer are VIPL (Tier 2), Gold (Tier 3), and Silver and Bronze (Tier 4). The Wave program is run directly by Lower Island Soccer and is not tied to any specific LISA club but instead draws players from the entire island. BCSPL is considered the entry point to higher levels of soccer (provincial, national and professional).

Intake for Wave happens at the U13 level,  with the occasional under-age player accepted to the squad as well. All Lakehill players interested in playing for Wave are encouraged to register for the assessments. More details on the assessments can be found on this information sheet.  There is a parent information session scheduled as well. Any Lakehill members with further questions about the Wave program are welcome to contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Photo Retake Day

Photo retakes are scheduled for this coming Sunday, January 22nd, upstairs in the Braefoot Community Centre. Please see the schedule below for team photo times. We are working on moving teams through on 8 minute intervals so please ensure that your team arrives at least 10 minutes in advance to allow for check-in. Players should dress in complete uniform including shorts and socks where applicable.

Individual players having their photo redone, must bring in the individual photo that they received from September Photo Day. Individual retakes are available on a first-come, first serve basis at time listed below. Please check in with one of our volunteers upon arrival.

Grass Fields Still Closed

Unfortunately the fields have not thawed enough for Saanich to open them and therefore they will remain closed until Friday. It is hoped that the ground will thaw enough over the next few days to allow them to be open again this weekend. Please check the Field Status section to the right for regular updates.

Message from the Director of Volunteers

Volunteering can be a fun and rewarding way to be a part of your club. We also can't do it without you! Lakehill is a volunteer run club from top to bottom - the only paid positions are the technical staff. So we need everyone to chip in to make our club the best place to play soccer in Greater Victoria!

Thanks to all those individuals who have already volunteered to coach, manage or act as a linesperson for their child's team and/or have completed other duties around the club. We are a club that depends on its volunteers and we need everyone's help. To date, I have been contacting individuals based on the role they signed up for during the registration process. If you haven't yet heard from me yet....you eventually will! Why not beat me to the punch. Look at the volunteer list  and find a position that suits you. Then just email me to let me know (just in case someone else already grabbed it!) Once you get a confirmation - and any related instructions - fulfill your volunteer hours. Voila - job done. You can bask in the warm glow of a good feeling, a job well done, and the respect and admiration of your club!
