Lakehill Soccer Association held its Annual General Meeting on Sunday October 6th. On the agenda for that meeting was approval of two Special Resolutions: approve a new Constitution for the Society, and approve a new set of Bylaws for the Society. Also on the agenda were the review of the financial statements, various reports, and elections for the Board of Directors.
Subsequent to the meeting, the Board of Directors received numerous letters complaining about a lack of notice for the meeting, in contravention of the BC Societies Act. The Board reviewed these complaints, and agreed that they needed to seek legal counsel to determine the validity of the complaints, and next steps. The Board has engaged a lawyer with a specialization in this field, and he has agreed to provide a written legal opinion.
When the opinion has been received, it will be shared on the Club’s website and through direct email communication to the membership.
